Whap! 1.9
Whap! changes:
Changed to work properly with the changes CompuServe made in the email
and upload areas.
Added a flag for European users logging on from European CompuServe nodes.
Added email send with receipt.
Fixed all known bugs.
View! Changes:
A completely rewritten View!. See Whap!.DOC for details.
View! no longer directly supports "sessions".
The format of the PPNS file has been changed. If you are currently
using any version of Whap! before 1.9, do not attempt you use your
PPNS file with Whap! 1.9. With a text editor you can easily convert
your PPNS file to the new format. See Whap!.DOC for the file format.
To avoid confusion, the 1.9 PPNS file has been renamed to BOOK.
(Meaning Whap! 1.9 will not try to load in your PPNS file unless you've
specifically renamed it to BOOK).
Whap! now requires the use of the kd_freq.library. It is found in the
WHAP19.LZH file as FRQLIB.LZH. Within the FRQLIB.LZH file are both
user and programmer documentation for the file requester library.
The file requester itself is very easy to use. Do make sure that you
put kd_freq.library in LIBS:.
Registered users:
If you are currently a registered user of Whap! 1.8, you may use the
supplied "update" program. Simply rename your Whap! (version 1.8) to
Whap!.old. Place Whap! (version 1.9) in Whap: and run the update
program. Once the update is successful you may delete Whap!.old.
New users:
If you are running Whap! from floppy disk, name the disk WHAP.
If you are running from HD, be sure to assign WHAP: to the directory
in which Whap! resides.
In the Demo version, all files included in this .LZH must be in Whap:.
The files TELE1200 and TELE2400 are example scripts for use with TeleNet.
The file Tymnet is an example script for use with Tymnet. See Whap!.DOC
for details on using scripts if you are not calling a (American or
Canadian) CompuServe node.
